Beschreibung
Mungo and James grow up in a housing estate in Glasgow and are supposed to be sworn enemies – Mungo is a Protestant, James is a Catholic. But instead, they fall in love.
Mungo desperately tries to hide his true self, especially from his older brother Hamish, the leader of a local gang with a brutal reputation. However, this is nothing compared to what comes months later when their mother sends Mungo on a fishing trip with two strange men who are supposed to make him a "real man." Mungo must gather all his inner strength and courage to get back to a safe place where he and James can still have a future.
Young Mungo is a gripping story about the boundaries of masculinity, the violence faced by many queer people, and the dangers that arise when you love someone too much.
