Beschreibung
Thirty-something Klára decides that she needs to do something about her monotonous life. She wants to break free from the established routine marked by the stops 'study - work - rent' and finally start writing. So she packs her bags and moves abroad, to a port city. She settles in a street that has long seen better days. On the sidewalk, worn-out prostitutes linger, and here, a faded world collides with a reckless desire to demolish and modernize. Klára wanted to find herself, but ultimately discovers mainly this strangely attractive place and its inhabitants, such as Pán or Zaseklá. As an Eastern European woman, however, she cannot fully understand the local situation. What at first glance appears to be a story about searching for one's identity later transforms into a contemporary novel addressing gentrification, migration, mass tourism, or stereotypes associated with what a woman should or shouldn't do.
