Most of you, at least according to Czech statistics, have already encountered this. At work or elsewhere in society, you feel older than others. You start to not understand the behavior of some people. Your peers become strangers with whom you suddenly have nothing to say. Distrust towards others grows within you. In short, to paraphrase the words of a song by the band Visací Zámek: 'Don't trust anyone over thirty.' And if on top of all that you lose a job where you have worked for several years, you can't help but be astonished at how radically your world has changed. What is the cause of this? Who is to blame? I haven't done anything wrong; I've just tried to do things as they should be done. But how is that supposed to be? Questions swarm in your head, and answers are lacking. This book is not a guide on how to overcome a mid-life crisis; it's just a slice of the life of one person who found themselves in such a situation and, whether they wanted to or not, was forced to take a stance on it.
