Ivan Fried (*December 13, 1952) is on a colorful life journey. Born in Prague, he engaged in amateur theater (Esence) as a playwright, lyricist, and actor since the 1980s, where he found a small oasis of freedom. In 1995, he completed a distance master's degree in journalism at FSV UK. He spent the last 25 years of his professional life as the director of a cultural organization. His true mission in this world is to be a poet. Since purchasing a guitar in 2017, he has also been performing his songs, influenced primarily by his encounter with Karel Kryl. Since 2013, he has lived in Neratovice. Ivan Fried has two children - a daughter Magdaléna and a son Jakub. Reading Ivan's poetry means walking through several centuries and corners of the world at once. Ivan draws from the rich cultural and literary heritage not only of Europe (Shakespeare, Michelangelo), Russia (the influence of Bulgakov, Dostoevsky), and American beat poetry - and the enchantment with Buddhism associated with it. Ivan can also create intuitively and playfully ("Poetry is a hooligan/ period/ fame is a wedding train...").
