The quiet life of lonely nonagenarian Algernon is turned upside down overnight when his estranged daughter Helena finds temporary refuge with him, along with his nearly sixteen-year-old granddaughter Anna, whom he is meeting for the first time. The quirky girl, who loves to dress in bright colors and draw pictures on her skin, occasionally drives her old-fashioned grandfather up the wall, while the grumpy old man intimidates Anna a bit.
