In a God-forgotten cottage settlement in eastern Slovakia, two young men discover a murdered woman. Her identity is a great unknown. The case is investigated by the quirky detective David Meizner, a perpetually grumpy and unpleasant womanizer who does not have much love for people, and his beautiful and pragmatic colleague Ema Kopecká. To uncover the identity of the murderer, they must together navigate a web woven from ancient secrets. However, their search becomes complicated... This drama, full of twists and unexpected events, is teeming with suspicious characters from both the past and the present, long-forgotten sins, as well as the pain and suffering that a little girl and later a young woman had to endure. The plot gradually takes us to a small village beneath the Tatras, continues to the capital city, and back to the place where the main heroine had an unexpected encounter with death. The story, played out by flesh-and-blood characters, is gripping until the very end and surprises with an unexpected resolution.
