Helena is preparing dinner to celebrate her husband's birthday when her colleague from school calls to inform her that she has been having an affair with her husband for two years. Helena's world collapses, as she has been betrayed by the one person she trusted the most. She makes a pivotal decision to leave the city, abandon her established routine, and move to a remote cabin in the mountains of Härjedalen. She finds herself in a hell of solitude, burdened by painful memories of the past and fear of the future. Gradually, however, she discovers herself, and when she later meets a young, energetic girl named Louise, whom she begins to help at a mountain café, she realizes that she has actually wanted to do something completely different with her life all along.
