Beschreibung
Lady Evelyn Herbert, the beautiful and beloved daughter of Lord Carnarvon, was primarily expected to make a advantageous marriage. However, she longed for something different. She left the world of balls and arranged marriages and, together with her father, ventured into the Egyptian desert in hopes of becoming an archaeologist and working alongside Howard Carter. That dream came true for her. Egypt gave her one love and took away another. The first was her future husband, the second her beloved father. In 1922, she experienced, in her own words, 'the most splendid moment of her life' when she was the first to enter the freshly discovered tomb of Tutankhamun. However, her life took a darker turn from that moment on. A series of tragedies in her surroundings that followed did not break her, but they gave rise to the myth of the pharaoh's curse, which accompanied her in various forms throughout her life. Aging Eve, after a stroke in 1972, recalls the events of her youth. An Egyptian archaeologist searching for the fate of artifacts from Tutankhamun's tomb partially helps her in this. But what if her questions are not as innocent as they seem? Can her loving husband protect Eve until the end?
