The new mathematics textbook for 2nd grade elementary school supports reading skills. For 2nd grade, the 4th, 5th, and 6th volumes of Matýsek's Mathematics are intended. The sixth volume of Matýsek's Mathematics is recommended to be included in the curriculum as the final volume of mathematics in 2nd grade. If the educational program does not account for teaching multiplication and division in the full numerical range, or if the mathematics instruction will proceed more slowly, it is not necessary to cover this volume entirely at the end of 2nd grade. The sixth volume of Matýsek's Mathematics is structured so that the teacher in 2nd grade can cover only part of it and return to the remaining unaddressed parts at the beginning of 3rd grade.
