This Czech-language activity textbook for first-year primary pupils follows the analytical-synthetic method and prepares children for independent reading. It develops the sensory skills needed for reading, supports handwriting and fine-motor development, and encourages pupils to check their understanding of what they read, hear or see. The exercises develop auditory and visual perception, expand vocabulary, and teach children to understand words and their meanings. Pupils become acquainted with the first letters M, A, L, E, S, O, P, U and I. Each letter is introduced through pictures, written words, rhymes, practice tasks and handwriting exercises. Syllable reading is shown graphically using curved lines. Different symbols indicate the type of activity, including a ball, alarm clock, parrot, owl, mouth and pencil. The accompanying reading primer is also available in interactive form, and clicking the pictures enlarges the two-page spread.
