Beschreibung
Elizabeth of York was the eldest daughter of English King Edward IV. The red-haired, beautiful, and kind-hearted girl is the darling of the entire family, but her life takes a sharp turn when her father dies at the height of his powers. Her uncle, the infamous Richard III, seizes upon his death to usurp the throne and imprisons Elizabeth's two younger brothers, the rightful heirs to the throne, who then disappear without a trace. Elizabeth must endure Richard's courtship to become his wife, thereby further legitimizing his claims to the throne. Although the king has murdered her brothers, she believes she must accept his proposal of marriage. However, she is saved by Henry Tudor, who confronts Richard at the Battle of Bosworth Field. After his victory, he is proclaimed king and asks Elizabeth for her hand in marriage, allowing her to become the first queen of the Tudor dynasty. The marriage is happy and fruitful, not only uniting the previously warring houses of Lancaster and York—represented by the red and white rose—but also producing four offspring who reach adulthood, including Henry VIII.
