They will prepare the murder of your wife, and you will commit it. August 5th is approaching. The day when Vancouver, Canada, has been shaken by an explosion for the last three years, each time resulting in the death of one woman. This year, however, former police profiler Jefferson Winter stands against the murderer. The wife of a millionaire from Vancouver dies in an explosion in her home. She has become the third victim of a serial killer who regularly, once a year, always on the same day, kills one woman. The method of the murders is unusual – the perpetrator immobilizes the victim, attaches explosives to her body, and walks away. The bomb is then activated by the person who enters the room – usually the woman's husband. Such oddity is too much even for the experienced former FBI profiler Jefferson Winter, who is brought into the case by police officer Laura Anderton. The Vancouver police are at a loss, there have been very few leads in three years, and penetrating the mind of such a twistedly methodical killer will be a challenging task. Moreover, it is August 4th, and Winter knows that the perpetrator has already chosen another victim. The killer does not remind the public of himself, makes no statements. He has no demands, does not threaten, and works without witnesses. He could essentially be anyone. Will Winter manage to find the inconspicuous murderer before he strikes again?
