After her husband Marlene von Bechstein disappeared without a trace, this wandering soul embarks on a pursuit of the alleged kidnapper Gregor Duboise. She is aided by former rocker Ares Löwenstein and funeral home owner and death-spacer Konstantin Korff, who must secretly deal with his own problems as well. The search in Leipzig, Vienna, and Quebec brings several surprises. And then there is the mysterious Inverno, who continues to hunt wandering souls to discover who robbed him of his memory. A search also awaits Siu, an ancient vampire. She intends to find out where her lover Eric and ward Elena have disappeared to and how it relates to the Libra organization. However, her rescue mission unfolds differently than she imagined: It takes Siu to unknown places from which there is almost no way back. And on top of all that, she faces a battle with an enemy she did not anticipate.
