The story focuses on four deaths in an exclusive closed community on the outskirts of Buenos Aires. Behind high perimeter walls, through gates reinforced with barriers and surrounded by guard booths, lies the Altos de la Cascada residence. There live the chosen families, where everything seems perfect. They share the same lifestyle and want to maintain it at all costs. Every week, a group of friends from the residence meets far from the eyes of their children, maids, and wives. The latter are excluded from the men's gathering and jokingly refer to themselves as the Thursday Widows. However, one night, the routine is disrupted. When crimes occur, a claustrophobic atmosphere of fear and mutual suspicion prevails. Residents begin to compare themselves with other members. One of the families affected by the crisis stands at the gate, determined to leave the sick social bubble, thus reaching into the conscience of everyone who lives too comfortably and ignores the widening social gap and the pervasive decline. The conclusion of the novel poses a provocative question: Are you afraid to leave?
