Blaze was convinced that he would go to hell, just like most other people. The world was a miserable place, and the longer a person lived, the worse he became. After a head injury, Clayton Blaisdell, known as Blaze, is not very bright. George Rackley, an experienced criminal whom he meets after escaping from a juvenile institution, gives him a “wonderful” idea: kidnapping a child from a wealthy family. Before the two partners can carry out their “million-dollar” plan, however, George dies. Left on his own, Blaze carries the child away as a hostage through a snowstorm, with the police close behind, and the “carefully planned crime” suddenly turns into a race against time in the white hell of the Maine woods.
