WINTER, SNOW, MURDER, AND A SUSPECT WHO HAS BEEN DEAD FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS…
The beloved vicar Clare Wilcox is bludgeoned to death in St. Anne's Church in the town of Knaresborough. No murder weapon is found at the scene, and superstitious locals spread rumors about a medieval monk whose spirit is said to haunt the church since time immemorial.
Detective Jim Oldroyd, however, does not believe in ghosts. Together with his colleague Andy Carter, he sets out to follow the leads that may lead them to the real killer. But it seems that everything is conspiring against them. They struggle to uncover how Clare was murdered, and they are also trapped in St. Anne's by a snowstorm.
