A DEAD SAMURAI, A JAPANESE BEAUTY, AND ONE YOUNG UNWITTING DETECTIVE…
It's the end of May 1962, and the unwitting detective Ota Fink – a lathe operator in civilian life – gets pulled into another case by the head of a well-known pub on the border of Vinohrady and Žižkov. One of the local regulars, Bohouš Radýř, is sitting in Pankrác for a murder committed out of jealousy, which supposedly doesn't suit him at all.
Gardener Jindřich Lehocký, known as Samurai, was found in his cabin with a Japanese sword plunged into his stomach. Could it have been a suicide, typical harakiri? And if so, wouldn't it have been easier to just drown with a weight on his leg, like what happened to Alois Krška, a cheerful guy who certainly had no reason for suicide? Is there any connection to the peak of the Matterhorn and the mysterious Japanese Hayaši Kurošiva?
Additionally, the alluring Janina enters the already tangled case. A gang of villains made up of Popelář, Mobutu, Pajzák, Veverka, and Cinkač wants to extract some kind of secret from her. And the strange Japanese garden on Císařský Island, tied to an ancient story, remains silent and silent…
