SAINT WENCESLAS IS DEAD. THE BATTLE FOR THE FATE OF THE CZECH LAND BEGINS... The end of the first millennium AD is not an easy time. The second man of the Czech lands, Martin of Wartberg, is trying to reconcile the East Frankish King Otto with Prince Boleslav. Otto is enraged not only by the unfortunate fratricide of Wenceslas but also – and primarily – by the non-payment of tribute. And Boleslav is troubled by the plundered borderlands and burned fortresses, as well as the threat of an interdict. But can two Christian rulers argue like this on the eve of the invasion of the Hungarian tribes? And then there is that prophecy. That cursed prophecy! "Three times the Czechs will save the Empire, three times they will rule it..." And then, then what? Who knows. The priest fainted before he could finish.
