THE DISCOVERY OF A FORTY-YEAR-OLD BURIED BODY WILL CONNECT TWO APPARENTLY UNRELATED CASES... Faroese police officer Hjalti Hentze believes he has a clear case on his desk for the first time in a long while: a fire at an abandoned farm, likely accidentally started by its owner, a local drunkard who hanged himself in the house just before. However, then the remains of a young woman, buried for forty years, are discovered on the property, and the seemingly simple case begins to complicate. Moreover, it appears to be connected not only to the community that settled on the farm in the seventies but also to an old kidnapping and rape of a local girl. Meanwhile, British inspector Jan Reyna continues to investigate his mother's suicide. Over time, he realizes that his and Hentze's cases are intertwined and both point to a sinister secret buried for four decades, not only on the islands but also in Denmark. Hentze is aware of this too, as well as the fact that Reyna's private investigation is starting to turn into an obsession. An obsession that could destroy him.
