The book In the Shadow of the Ore Mountains attempts to reveal the truth about the history of the branches of the Flossenbürg concentration camp in the Karlovy Vary region, using the maximum amount of available sources. This includes the camps in Svatava, Kraslice, Nová Role, Ostrov, and Korunní. It brings previously completely unknown and often unique information about the functioning of the camps, their commanders, and victims, as well as detailed descriptions of the so-called death marches that accompanied the end of these camps at the conclusion of World War II. The book is accompanied by nearly three hundred completely unique photographs.
