Antonín Fajkus is the last living Czechoslovak fighter pilot. He was born in December 1923 in the Hodonín region and served during World War II in the legendary 40th Fighter Squadron 'Red Devils' of the American Air Force. He flew a total of 190 operational flights and more than 500 combat hours, recording one confirmed and one probable enemy aircraft shootdown. Today, he lives forgotten in the suburbs of Chicago, where he was discovered in the summer of 2024 by historian Jiří Klůc. This book presents a story that is revealed to the public for the very first time and is published on the occasion of Antonín Fajkus's 101st birthday.
