Beschreibung
The presented third volume of the research project focused on Czechoslovak western pilots, who shortly after returning from the war chose the second British exile due to the rise of the communist regime, again offers the fates of those who managed to re-enter the ranks of the British Royal Air Force for the second time. It alphabetically follows the two previous volumes in the name order covering the letters M – S. Our exiled pilots served in the RAF during the Cold War in flying assignments with fighters and bombers, as well as in coastal aviation, rescue services, photo reconnaissance, transport, training, and last but not least in testing and transit activities. In the ground branch, they were offered positions in air traffic control or in a wide range of administration. Beyond service on the British Isles, they were also expected to serve in overseas assignments – from Africa, through Arab posts, the Mediterranean, to the Far East.
