Beschreibung
For the very first time, a multi-part comprehensive work on the fates of Czechoslovak pilots in the ranks of the British Royal Air Force during peacetime is published, taking readers initially from the liberation of Czechoslovakia to the consequences of the communist coup in February 1948. In response to purges in the army, arrests, and absurd accusations, the pilots once again venture beyond the borders into the free world. Thanks to the understanding of the British side, several of them manage to return under the protection of the Royal Air Force, and most then embark on the second phase of service in flying and ground assignments. Thus, we encounter Czechoslovak exile pilots from the late 1940s to the early 1970s in a wide range of activities and with active participation in significant or lesser-known operations and events during the Cold War.
