Michal Nikl ("Mike") is a university student from a Moravian Catholic family who has long given up on God. When his father dies, he goes to a pub and spends the night with a stranger. He has no idea that soon he will fall for the kind and devout Liliana Kučerová ("Lili"). Both soon find themselves at a major crossroads in life. Mike wants to get his life in order so he has something to offer Lili.
