Terezie lived her adult life in just a few square meters, yet she became the patroness of missions around the world. Her maturation into transparent simplicity and trust was not easy; she went through many spiritual crises and darkness, yet she is a proclaimer of God's mercy and hope. She did nothing dazzling, and yet her Autobiographical Writings became one of the most read spiritual books. She wanted to live completely in obscurity, and today millions of Christians love and invoke her with requests for intercession. She lived for just under twenty-five years, did not receive much formal education, but due to the wisdom bestowed by God, she was declared a teacher of the Church.
