Beschreibung
The Czechoslovak intelligence service was renowned in the 1930s for its high professionalism and efficiency. When the Nazis came to power in neighboring Germany in 1933 and the Henlein's Sudeten German Patriotic Front (later the Sudeten German Party) was established in Czechoslovakia the same year, the Czechoslovak intelligence service increasingly confronted espionage in favor of the German Reich. Among the revealed and subsequently punished German spies was Anna Dienelová, a young German woman from Cheb, whose case became a sensation in 1935. Mapping the 'Dienelová case and associates' and its connections is essentially an unintended thriller, providing a specific insight into the history of intelligence services before World War II.
