Posvátná místa zemí Koruny české II. – Dvořáček Petr (2018)

It has been five years since we embarked on our first journey to the sacred sites of the lands of the Czech Crown. We visited megalithic monuments, which, although modest by our standards, are nonetheless remarkable; we climbed sacred mountains and drank from miraculous springs; we stood at the sites of the first Christian churches and places associated with the deeds of saints, culminating our journey at the most famous pilgrimage sites. However, many places connected with prehistoric, medieval, or Baroque sacred traditions still remain to be visited, whether for the age of their myths, the strength of their spirituality, or the impressive artistic messages of their creators. The journey to sacred places thus continues. Where shall we go this time? In the second part, we will visit the site of an ancient cult of the mother goddess, look at a hill where people once hung their small offerings to the gods on the branches of a sacred tree, visit the South Moravian rondels where the people of the Moravian painted pottery culture worshipped their charming Venuses, and learn about the place where ancient Celts worshipped the statue of a mysterious druid. We will also visit the ruins of Gothic monasteries, as well as those that have risen from the ashes to new glory, following in the footsteps of hundreds of thousands of ancient pilgrims on another...
