The narrator of the book Planet Earth is the planet itself, and the main characters are the members of the Zelenkov family, primarily the children Olívie, Filípek, and little Ema. Planet Earth explains to children why it can be sad and when it has reason to smile. It smiles whenever the heroes of the book do something good for its protection. They aim to show children how to change these old habits and what can be done for the good of the planet and all of us. Each story focuses on one pillar of a zero-waste lifestyle: reuse, refuse, reduce, recycle, and rot.
