Beschreibung
The Green Deal is a plan and a gradually emerging extensive set of measures through which the European Union aims to achieve so-called climate neutrality or net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. The EU is thus significantly tightening its climate action. The Green Deal surpasses everything we have been accustomed to so far, both in the fight against global warming and in European integration. It aims for nothing less than a revolutionary transformation of our economic and social model and the very reality around us – a transformation that is not to be left to spontaneous development but mandated and artificially organized from above. Will the Union save the planet, or will it only harm itself? Will the Green Deal be a new growth strategy and a path to a prosperous society with a modern and competitive economy, as Brussels promises, or are we facing "degrowth," stagnation, and a decline in living standards? And what consequences will this plan have for freedom, democracy, public finances, or the sovereignty of member states?
