Beschreibung
The Václav Klaus Institute has been continuously addressing the central theme of our time – the theme of Covid and the restrictive, quarantine measures it has triggered – since the moment the epidemic arrived in our country, that is, since the beginning of 2020. Already in April 2020, IVK published the book Quarantine, followed by a collection of economic texts Economic Aspects of the Coronacrisis in August, and at the end of the year, Václav Klaus published the book Quarantine 2.0. The new book Reason Against Covid Panic is a collection of texts by leading figures in Czech medicine as well as the social sciences. The group of authors is united by a calm, rational, and non-panic-spreading approach to the topic; the absence of ambitions to exploit this topic for any of their own political, academic, or business gains and effects; the search for a reasonable approach in politics and healthcare not only to the disease itself but also to the overlooked side of extensive blanket restrictions and the rejection of conspiracy theories regarding the origin of the epidemic. The book features contributions from Václav Klaus, Jiří Beran, Jan Pirk, Pavel Kolář, Cyril Höschl, Roman Šmucler, Jan Žaloudík, Pavel Bém, Vladimír Čížek, Aleš Franc, Miroslav Macek, Vít Mareček, Vladimír Pikora, Lukáš Pollert, Michal Semín, Jan Skopeček,…
