Beschreibung
The collection of texts titled 'The Rise and Fall of the Czech Right: 25 Years of ODS' was created both as a selection of significant historical documents, texts, and speeches associated with the most important moments of the formation and existence of the Czech civic right, which are now perhaps unfortunately forgotten, and from the opinions of participants in the Conference of the Václav Klaus Institute on this topic, which took place on April 25, 2016. Contributors to the collection include Václav Klaus, Miroslav Macek, Ivo Strejček, Boris Šťastný, and Jan Skopeček. Another publication from the Václav Klaus Institute could thus become a partial contribution to the discussion on how and where the Czech right could and should head in a time when civic conservative right in the Czech Republic is in deep defense, groping and awkwardly searching for its identity, in order to regain a dignified position in the domestic political system that it deserves, or an inspiring or polemical read for anyone interested in Czech politics.
