Beschreibung
In Japanese, there is a beautiful poetic word for a sunny, sunlit place – hinata. This collection, the culmination of a loose poetic trilogy that Luděk Čertík developed in the books Many Rivers and The Last Wild Embrace, seeks to transport readers to such a sunny place, to convey something of the experience of being in the sun, which he understands as a metaphor for earthly existence in all its colors and tones. The poems that shape it turn to the sun, the center of all living things, in its most diverse forms – from the warm touch of sunlight on bare skin to the brilliance that dazzles us from our closest ones. All this in an effort to show how profoundly the sun impacts our lives, how cosmically, physically, and mentally close it is to us.
