Beschreibung

A house near the Canadian city of Calgary at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. A lake where wild ducks gather. Two ducks named Coffee and Cream, which suited them perfectly. A little girl named Adrianne, her mom, and dad. This is the setting and the protagonists of the story about living with ducks that joined the family with duck-like ease and elegance. The daughter grew fond of them and spent every free moment with them. She trained them, fed them, played with them... But it wasn't always easy. "Sometimes they demanded food at unusual hours, like three in the morning, when their desperate quacking appealed to our insensitivity, and it was clear they wouldn't last until breakfast and would definitely die because we hadn't given them enough for dinner." And gradually, everything became more dramatic; the real Canadian winter came, the ducks didn't fly south for warmth, and rescuing them from the frozen lake where they were stuck required a bit of courage. When a person manages to save animals from a situation where their lives are, so to speak, hanging by a thread, it inevitably brings an amazing feeling of a job well done. But what happens when the rescued ducks turn out to be media stars? Is it possible for people to stand in line for tickets just to see ordinary ducks? Is it possible for the ducks...
