Why are we so fascinated by trees? Perhaps because the tree marks the 'center' of creation for us humans: it is still entirely nature and yet already on the way to becoming an individual. We can encounter a tree, we can communicate with it. At the same time, we are grateful that it remains silent and only speaks to us through its presence. When we are tired of human chatter, we gladly sit under an old oak or perhaps an even older olive tree and listen to its eloquent silence. Photographer Tomáš Míček, who has already delighted us with many photography volumes, has captured this presence of trees and their magic in an almost mystical way. He combines his intuitive approach with the highest photographic and technical standards.
