In 1992, Neil left the band to pursue a solo career, only to return in 1997. Since 2000, the band took a break, but they reunited in 2004. In the book Tattoos & Tequila, Vince Neil recounts his personal experiences as the singer and frontman of Mötley Crüe and the era of its existence as a participant in a reality show.
