An anthology of Polish fantasy by both well-known and lesser-known Polish authors from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Among the well-known are undoubtedly two Polish Nobel Prize winners in literature - Władysław Reymont and Henryk Sienkiewicz - and Bolesław Prus is certainly among the recognized authors. Among the lesser-known yet still very high-quality writers are Karol Irzykowski and Stefan Grabiński, whose work is being rediscovered and published in Poland and here. There are also several interesting works by far less known Polish literati who mastered their craft perfectly and can be confidently placed among the spiritual heirs of E. A. Poe's work.
