Beschreibung
The author stated about herself and her book: I am from Butare in Rwanda. During the colonial period, the Belgians called it Astrida. To survive the hunt for Tutsis from April to July 1994, I learned to lie about my identity and travel from place to place. In June 1994, I arrived in France. My first collection of short stories is called Ejo. In Kinyarwanda, my native language, "ejo" means "yesterday," but also "tomorrow." Ejo is a collection of short stories whose heroines are women caught in the turmoil of recent Rwandan history, striving with determination to overcome their uncertain status.
