Beschreibung
The Digital Services Act (No. 12/2020 Coll.) is part of the government strategy Digital Czechia, which aims to ensure simple and efficient provision of online services to clients of public authorities, facilitating the exercise of their rights and the fulfillment of their obligations, while allowing officials easy access to guaranteed data. The law, referred to as the digital constitution, creates a legal basis for residents and public authorities to easily perform digital actions and simplifies the process of signing electronic documents or using data in information systems. Citizens can have important information about life situations recorded and subsequently refer to it when interacting with public authorities; they can also be informed about the expiration of identification and other documents. All of this is under the condition of so-called technical neutrality, meaning generally known and accessible software and other technological means. The commented provisions are placed in a broader context of domestic and European legal regulations and jurisprudence. The commentary aims to become a practical tool for users of digital services and their providers.
