Beschreibung
The book presents the first Czech monograph that comprehensively addresses current controversial issues of law, health, and family. The author draws on constitutionally guaranteed freedoms, including the freedom to live according to one's own beliefs while considering others. Three parts of the book are dedicated to legal questions of existence and health, mental health, and diversities with legal implications for health. Subchapters focus on surrogacy, the status of doulas, births in one's own social environment, criticism of the Constitutional Court's finding on the recognition of parental status of same-sex spouses, the prohibition of eugenic practices, and the prohibition of human cloning. Furthermore, the author addresses compensation for harm in mandatory vaccination and burial culture, family life, and mourning. A significant portion contains legal questions related to psychotherapy and psychosomatics. Among the legal diversities, the reader may find off-label medication, the prohibition of misleading clinical designations, and the status of advocacy groups and masseurs. This work builds on the author's previous monographs 'The Law of Natural Healing' and 'The Law of Complementary and Alternative Medicine,' which were published by Leges in 2018 and 2020.
