After more than 50 years, a new law on experts, expert offices, and expert institutions has been adopted. The commentary presents a clear and comprehensive interpretation of the new legal regulation, which brings numerous innovations for access to expert activities and their execution. For example, the law introduces the institution of expert offices for business corporations conducting expert activities, expands the liability of experts for offenses, mandates compulsory liability insurance for the performance of expert activities, and establishes the right to be registered in the list of experts upon fulfilling all specified conditions, including an entrance examination. Experts are required to provide data on assessments in the electronic registry of expert opinions maintained by the Ministry of Justice, which also manages the new list of experts. The remuneration of experts is also changing. The most extensive part of the commentary consists of an interpretation of the expert opinion, which is crucial in expert activities. The commentary on individual paragraphs is interconnected with other provisions and related parts of the implementing regulations.
