The collection of contributions from the eponymous international scientific conference aims to reflect on fundamental issues and the latest developments in the area of the right to religious freedom and freedom of conscience in relation to the religious beliefs of parents and the best interests of the child. The formation of children and youth has been and remains a key issue in every social system and is also a fundamental question for religious communities. The contents of curricula and the methods of educating children and youth simultaneously shape collective memory, public opinion, and the overall social atmosphere in the country. Therefore, the authors pay special attention particularly to the protection of parents' rights to religious and moral education of children, questions of children's freedom of thought, and especially religious education and schooling in public schools. The issue of education and training in connection with the exercise of the right to religious freedom is one of the most sensitive questions of confessional law, and thus the main theme of the publication is one of the focal points in the current discourse on the legal framework governing the relationships between the state and churches.
