In the book, we meet ordinary (or extraordinary?) people from the local area. Perhaps you know some of the characters, perhaps you have encountered them in the village, in the city, or by the banks of the Sázava River, just under different names; maybe you will meet them tomorrow, or really only among the sixteen stories of Free Composition. Joy, sadness, emotion, longing, feelings of loneliness, and uncertainty about the future alternate in these stories, just like in our lives. "We have all had enough of the past," says one of the characters. Nevertheless, they sometimes have to return to it. The book is accompanied by an appendix featuring the outstanding photographer Jindřich Štreit.
