Beschreibung
The second volume of Salv under the Sails covers the period of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Empire, from 1789 to 1815. On land, France was victorious over all of Europe, but the situation at sea and in the oceans was completely different. The revolution brought turmoil to the French navy, resulting in growing British dominance, and Great Britain became the ruler of all waters. Napoleon's strategic miscalculations then led French squadrons to defeats from which, despite their diligent efforts to recover, they never bounced back and were condemned to a completely passive role by the end of the Napoleonic Wars. However, it was a time of great naval battles on the 13th Prairial, which the British call the Glorious First of June, at Aboukir, Cape Saint Vincent, Camperdown, Trafalgar, and many others, in which the French and their Spanish and Dutch allies matched the bravery of British sailors.
