Povětroň is the story of a pilot who, after a plane crash, is taken to a hospital. No one, not even he himself, knows who he is, where he came from, where he was flying to, and why he risked his life in such adverse weather. Three individuals – a compassionate nurse, a clairvoyant, and a poet – seek answers to these questions. Thus, three stories emerge, but the truth remains undisclosed. Povětroň, Hordubal, and Ordinary Life form Čapek's loose trilogy, in which his humanism, understanding, and compassion for ordinary people are manifested.
