The publication Cognitive Activities in Preschool Education is a methodological guide that focuses on developing cognitive processes and language in preschool-aged children. It emphasizes the development of the senses as the foundation for preschool children's understanding, but also provides many stimuli for the development of other areas - attention, memory, imagination, thinking, and speech. It is based on the current integrated approach to working with preschool children in accordance with the RVP PV. It discusses individual psychological processes and their development during preschool age. The publication offers examples of activities, games, tasks, and methodological series for developing individual cognitive processes in children. The examples are drawn from both spontaneously occurring situations and deliberately chosen and planned games and activities. In the first part of the publication, the reader will find specific examples of suitable methods and basic principles of how a child forms knowledge or skills. However, the second part will likely be crucial for the reader, where individual cognitive areas are elaborated from both developmental psychology and, especially, methodological perspectives - i.e., how educators or parents can gradually increase the difficulty.
