In his new book, renowned cardiologist Josef Veselka has gathered sixty comments that were published in Lidové noviny in 2021 and 2022. In them, the author observes and examines social events both domestically and abroad. The main topics are the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and inflation and economic crisis. As a professor, Veselka is used to seeking clear answers to clear questions in medicine; however, with social issues, often there are no straightforward conclusions possible, as problems 'under the X-ray' tend to recur in variations, and we actually behave in the same way. Therefore, the author recommends in the preface that the reader purchase the book and let it mature like archival wine. Perhaps over time it will show whether history repeats itself again, or whether it would be the opposite? It is up to each individual whether to follow this recommendation...
