Osobnosti úžasné i porouchané – Honzák Radkin (2021)

The first joint book by Radkin and František Honzák, "The Time of Psychopaths," focused on antisocial parasites, individuals with psychopathic traits, a lack of fear, who are, however, very capable manipulators and often endowed with considerable charisma. Their second book was created with the intention of presenting and comparing remarkable and flawed individuals, of whom there are more in society than psychopaths. Brief profiles of selected personalities are commented on from the perspective of a historian and a psychiatrist. The historical comments may be more detailed in the final version, as these personalities lived in specific times and found themselves in situations that refine characters and reveal what a person truly is. In the introductory part, the reader learns what personality is, what its components are, and how psychiatric approaches to personality have evolved. The stories of Czechoslovak paratroopers from England, the fates of three of our presidents, and the Three Kings, legendary figures of our resistance, show what shaped their personalities, whether positively or negatively. The book also includes the morbid fates of several of our women murderers, and the much-needed light at the end of the tunnel is provided by a chapter on significant patrons and philanthropists.
