Beschreibung
After an extensive collection of poetic works and subsequent collections Primal Roots and Agonda, written in India, the Galén publishing house is releasing the fourth book of poems by Jaroslav Hutka, this time written in the Czech Republic. Although Hutka is rightly perceived primarily as a songwriter, his poetic and prose works make up the majority of his literary output. In the collection Quarantine (2000), we recognize Hutka as a poet, especially known from the collections Blood Trench and Bitter Rain. Thus, he is someone who can connect the existential dimension of everyday life, a personal diary, current social criticism, the historical dimension of human life, and religious and philosophical reflection into a compelling whole that primarily aims – towards the future. When people try to understand the inner and unfiltered experience of the global quarantine caused by the spread of the coronavirus in 2020 years later, Hutka's poetry collection will undoubtedly belong to the most convincing and timeless testimonies of this strange period.
