Starting from January 2026, there will be further changes to the Civil Code (divorce, child custody after divorce, unacceptability of corporal punishment of children, and other changes). In addition, the Civil Code was also updated during the year 2025 (same-sex partnerships, financial services, work performance by pupils and students, domestic violence, and other changes). In the revised text of the publication, all changes are highlighted in bold. To help navigate the extensive code, a detailed subject index has also been updated, prepared by Prof. Karel Eliáš and Mgr. Marek Svatoš.
