The lavish publication presents the work of three significant designers from the Bauhaus - Anni Albers, Otti Berger, and Lilly Reich - and the Austrian-British ceramicist Lucie Rie. All these women, pioneers of modernity, faced the challenge of rebuilding their professional standing after the rise of Nazism. Thanks to their tenacity, they succeeded. Unfortunately, only Otti Berger's career was very short, as she was murdered by the Nazis in the Auschwitz concentration camp in the summer of 1944.
